DIY Skincare Recipes

During the winter, we forget to take care of our skin. This is an important time of the year to care for skin to make sure it is healthy and glowing.

Baking Soda Exfoliant
Baking Soda is a great way to exfoliate your skin. It also helps brighten acne dark spots. I like to add a drop of lavender essential oil to my mixture. I follow up with a light moisturizer like coconut oil or safflower oil. Avoid using around the eyes.

1. A tablespoon of baking soda.
2. Add two to three drops of water to make a paste.
3. Gently rub in a circular motion onto your face.
4. Leave on for no more than 10 minutes and rinse your face with warm water.
5. Apply a light moisturizer to your face.

6. Let me know how it works for you!

Honey & Brown Sugar Exfoliant
This is another favorite exfoliant I like to use. The honey leaves it moisturized, hydrated and soft. There is no need for a light moisturizer after you use this recipe. But, you can if you want to do so! I also like to add a drop of lavender or peppermint essential oil to my mixture. Please be careful with the peppermint! It will make your skin tingle but it's refreshing. Avoid using around the eyes.

1. 1 Teaspoon of raw/unfiltered honey
2. 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar (I use organic brown sugar)
3. Wet face with warm water and gently rub the mixture onto your face in a circular motion.
4. Leave on for no more than 5 minutes and rinse with warm water.
5. Apply a light moisturizer (if you choose).
6. Let me know how it works for you!
